Mr. Odell George "Clute" Woodard, Jr. was born January 10, 1953 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.  He answered God's call to come home on Saturday, June 26, 2021.  He was the son of Mrs. Virginia D. Martin and Mr. Odell George Woodard, Sr.

Odell was educated in the Mecklenburg County School System and was a proud graduate  of West Charlotte High School.  He attended technical college and immediately began his thirty-seven year long career with United Parcel Services (UPS).

His love for music, especially the drums, led him to become a part of many bands and forged many friendships with others who shared a love for music.  As a drummer, he shared his God given talents with the Music Ministry of the Myers Tabernacle AME Zion Church, where he was a lifelong member.

Clute was a longtime beloved member of the historic Cherry Community.

Preceding Odell in their homegoing were his parents, brother, Connie McGill and sister, Jean Gaston.

Left to treasure his memory are daughter, LaToya Woodard; son, Odell George Woodard, III; grandson, Jordan Applewhite; sister, Joan Crawford (David); nieces, Sabrena Brewater, Davaree Crawford, Darlisa Crawford, Brigett Gaston; nephew, Herbert Gaston; great-nieces, Kokieta Aisha; great-great niece, Taliah and great-great nephews, Isiah and Torrence.  Clute is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
