Olamae P. Brown, 75, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Wilora Lake Healthcare Center in Charlotte, NC.

Remembering the Life and Love of Minister Olamae Philipia Brown

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, God called our beloved Olamae P. Brown home for everlasting rest while residing at Wilora Lake Healthcare Center, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Born September 15, 1950, in Conway, South Carolina, Olamae, better known as "Ola" was the middle daughter of the late Felix Brown and Maeola Wright Brown. Olamae matriculated through the Charlotte Mecklenburg Public School system, graduating from Second Ward High School in 1968, where she was offered a scholarship in Art. Electing to not pursue her Art scholarship, she attended Central Piedmont Community College for a Certification in Business. After completing her business certification program, she began a career of twenty years or more at North Carolina National Bank, currently Bank of America and ending that career as a bank lockbox processor Supervisor.

A woman of faith, Ola began her spiritual journey as an active member of the Apostolic Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Adams actively participating in Sunday School, youth choir, and usher board. She later joined the Apostolic Church of God under the leadership of her Aunt and founder, the Reverend Gracie Wright Williams. Following the death of her Aunt in 1985, Ola assumed spiritual leadership as Pastor of the Apostolic Church of God working closely with her Mother (Mother of the Church) Maeola Brown prior to her mother's death in July 2014. She was a faithful servant leader even as rheumatoid arthritis relentlessly attacked her upper and lower extremities. While arthritis may have hindered her physically, spiritually her faith continued to grow and leap boundlessly. She handled the vicissitudes of life with faith and grace

When coronavirus disease (COVID-19) shut the nation down, Ola remained more committed to staying connected to the Church Community, becoming an E-Member of New Creation Christian Fellowship Church in San Antonio, Texas. She joined their Prayer Team faithfully every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening throughout the COVID shut down where she never failed to share valuable spiritual knowledge, reminding everyone of the importance to "Be Ready" and "Stay Ready." She was a member of New Creation's "Believers I Am" Sunday School and joined faithfully every Sunday morning up to the Sunday prior to her death, October 5, 2025. She was respected in her family and church community.

Ola / Aunt Ola / Cousin Ola was preceded in death by her loving father, and mother. She was greatly loved by her family who mourns her passing but cherishes her memory and celebrates her homegoing. She leaves to cherish precious memories: two sisters, Florine Dennis, Dora Durante -White (Hank), two brothers, Isaacs Drayton (Myra) and Thomas Lee Brown; one surrogate Aunt – Meristine Moore, seven nephews, Mohammed Jabarr Dennis, Auturo Dennis (Freda), Jermaine Dennis, Chieblo Quantae Durante, Christopher Drayton, Tony Drayton and a host of cousins, great nephews and loving friends.

Well done good and faithful servant; you fought the good fight and a crown awaits you. You will be dearly missed. And we who remain will keep you forever in our hearts.
