Oregon Roberson, Jr. son of the late Mary Roberson and the late Oregon Roberson, Sr. was born on April 16, 1928, in Mecklenburg County. He departed this life on April 15, 2019, at Olde Knox Commons Assisted Living Facility in Charlotte, NC.He was a life-long member of Silver Mount Baptist Church serving on the usher board and as a Trustee.

He was always compassionate, loving and generous with his time and resources. He had powerful laughter that just shook the room and he never met a stranger no matter where he went. He loved children and was a Father to the community. In his spare time, he liked to clean up his car and maintain his lawn. When he was in for the night he would often watch westerns and listen to his gospel music. He loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing his many life experiences with you.

Oregon retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg school system after 25 years of service. He returned to work with his lawn care business up until he became sick.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 68 years Mary J. Roberson and six children: John Roberson (Diane) of Moline, IL, Joseph Roberson (Venita), Penelope Roberson, Oregon Roberson 3rd, Angela Nichols (George) all of Charlotte, NC and Bridget Brown (Leonard) of Lawrenceville, GA; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
