Obituary

St. Pamelia Jayne Barrett Beatty, 64 of Charlotte, departed this life on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Novant Health - Main.  She was born on September 25, 1957, to the late Eliza Marion Green (Elizabeth Ross) and James Mack Barrett in Charlotte, North Carolina.

She was educated in the school systems of Great Falls, SC, Brooklyn, NY and Charlotte, NC.  She was organized, very smart, caring, and also had a long-time dream to become a nurse.

While a full-time wife and mother, she attended D'Youville College and Buffalo Vocational Technical Center's (BVTC) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) course and began working as an LPN, which she did for over 20 years.

In 1972, she met her husband Charles and began building their family which includes three sons, Michael, Andwele and Matthew.  In 1981, she relocated to Buffalo, NY to be closer to her mother.

While in Buffalo, she began attending services at Church of God and Saints of Christ.  She loved to sing, fellowship and officially became a member in 1986 and was baptized in 1987 in Belleville, Virginia.

When the Buffalo tabernacle closed, St. Pam became a member of Fifteenth Tabernacle Beth-El, Rochester, NY.  In her words, she had "some of the best times of her life" there.  She held the offices of choir member, tabernacle secretary, and Daughter of Jerusalem - but the title that she loved most, was being a Saint.

As a member of Second Tabernacle Beth-El, Charlotte, NC, she made sure she spread love, offered encouragement, while reminding everyone that with God, all things are possible.  She made sure she greeted everyone, but especially all the children, by always having candy for them.

St. Pam and St. Charles celebrated 45 years of marriage and 50 years of being in each other's lives.  She loved being a wife, a mother, calling her children and being a loving grandmother to her grandchildren.  She loved cooking on holidays and spending time with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Charles Beatty; her children, Michael Beatty, Andwele Beatty, and Matthew Beatty; her brother, Rickey Simmons (Phyllis) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Isiah Beatty, Kaila Clark, Kalib Clark, Asayah Beatty, Hailey Hobbs, Chai Beatty, and Adam Beatty; sister-in-law, Veronica Beatty (Philadelphia, PA); nephews, Tony Brown and Joshua Powell; niece, Deborah Beatty; special cousins; Stanley Brown, Mary Sanders, Wanda Watson of Great Falls, SC and James Sellers of Charlotte, NC; special cousin-in-Law, Theresa Miller; longtime friends, Eula Boulware and Patricia Waters of Great Falls, SC, Saints Howard Jefferies and Dietrich Jefferies of Rochester, NY, Evangelist Moses Farrar of Philadelphia, PA and all the Saints of Fifteenth Tabernacle Beth-El, Rochester, NY.
