A great man, Paul Nnamdi Oduh, aged 67, of Charlotte, North Carolina, departed this life peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2024, in the presence of his family. Paul courageously battled cancer and chose to shield his relatives and friends from worry while encouraging all to cherish the moments of happiness they shared.
Paul was born in Umuakali Naze, Owerri North LGA Imo State, Nigeria. He was the youngest of three sons born to the late Julius and Adline Oduh. He graduated from Holy Ghost College in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. In 1980, he moved to the United States to continue his education. He obtained a Master's in business administration (MBA) from Jackson State University. During his career, he assumed management roles in various companies and worked in the healthcare sector during his last days. His dedication was acknowledged with numerous rewards. He was an active member of the Nigerian community of Charlotte and affectionately known as "Ala-Owerri and Bros- Mee". His integrity and dedication to his community were evident as he was a founding member and the first executive secretary of Owerri Nu Uzo Ije (Owerri Progressive Union) of Charlotte. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Widely respected for his compassion and love, he earned a reputation as a "Good Man" among all who knew him. He was a dedicated reader and music enthusiast, known for staying well-informed about current affairs, and cherished his time with family and friends.
Paul was a devout Christian and his faith in God was a fundamental aspect of his life. He knew that God saved his life after he suffered a life-threatening gunshot injury at work, an incident that deepened his faith. He was a dedicated member of the Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church community, guided by Reverend Father Basile Sede. He was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife of over twenty years, Felicia Oduh, and his children: Chimdindu "Chimmy" Oduh, Jasmine Oduh, Nicole (James) Sinclair, Adrian (Floydreika) Oduh, and Nicholas Oduh. He leaves behind cherished grandsons Kaiden "Chinedu" and Cyrus "Maduabuchukwu", and granddaughters Jaylah and Ja'Kaelee. Also, his beloved brothers, Kingsley (Patricia) Oduh and Kevin (Justina) Oduh, his dear brother-in-law, Dr. J.J Emeka Amaechi, as well as his nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends, to cherish his memory forever. His passing has undoubtedly left a significant void in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
