Mr. Perry Smith, 79 of Charlotte, departed this life on Monday, February 28, 2022.   He was born on March 27, 1942 in Chesterfield, South Carolina the son of the late Will and Eva Smith.

Perry attended West Charlotte High School and graduated from J.W. Teamer High School in 1960.

He served in the Army branch of the United States Armed Forces, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1963.  Perry worked for Pelton and Crane Company and retired after 32 years in the polishing department.  He was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist until his illness.   He enjoyed bowling, baseball and his favorite was football.

In addition to his parents, Perry was preceded in death by his sister, Willie Alberta Rucker.

Left to cherish precious memories are his wife of 57 years, Alice Smith; sons, Perry Smith, Jr., Rodney Smith (Sabrina); Mark Smith, Perry Torrence (Catherine); daughters, Linda Horton, Cynthia Adams (Travis), 13 grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
