Rachel Marjanivi Johnson, our beautiful daughter, niece, sister, cousin, friend has left us heartbroken and bewildered. She died peacefully in her sleep sometime between Sunday evening and Monday morning. She was a beautiful soul with an unmatched capacity to love. She was glue, holding together relationships between friends, family, friends of family, family of friends, more kinds of relationships than I can list. Rachel had a superpower. She could connect with anyone. She used that power to be a caretaker and to keep others connected. She also used her superpower to be a super mom to her son Jacob Marcus Sturdivant, whom she leaves behind along with her mother, Cindy Scurry-Johnson, father, Marcus Johnson, countless cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. We all loved Rachel and were made better because she lived.
