Surrounded by family, Ralph Louis Williams transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 11, 2021.
Ralph was born on September 9, 1943 and was the youngest child of the late John and Missouri Williams. His brother, John (Billy) and sister Alice preceded him in death. While growing up in Aurora, Ralph attended SW Snowden High School and was a member of the St. Matthew Free Will Baptist Church. After graduation, Ralph moved to NY, joined the Air Force Reserve and met the love of his life Nellie through her cousin. After a courtship, they married on December 26, 1964 and celebrated 56 years of marriage. To this union, a daughter, Linda and son, Derrick were born.
While living in NY, Ralph worked in Data Processing at CBS for 38 years before retiring in 2008. Ralph became a member of Hollywood Full Gospel Baptist Church in Amityville, NY and served as a Trustee and Food Pantry volunteer. After retiring, Ralph moved to Charlotte, where he joined Ebenezer Baptist Church and served as a Trustee, Usher, and volunteered at Winding Springs Elementary as a reading mentor. He also volunteered at the Charlotte Men's Shelter. Family was everything to Ralph and he enjoyed cooking, coordinating family events and dinners and making certain that all family and friends were taken care of.
Ralph leaves a void for all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Nellie, daughter, Linda (Corey) Williams of Charlotte, NC; son, Derrick (Paulette) Williams of Wheatley Heights, NY; godson, Derron Johnson; his grandsons: D'Nathan, Matthew and Jalen; special niece Cassandra Pertilla-White; special cousins- Avon Moore, Jr, William House, Lenwood Earl House and Diane Clark; his mother in law- Lossie Lea, and a host of family and friends
