Randolph "Randy" Alvin Williams, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Atrium Health-Pineville. He was born to Leonard and Violet Williams on March 11, 1967 on the island of Grand Bahama in the Bahamas. He spent his primary years attending school on the island of Turks and Caicos. His high school years were spent at Hawksbill High School.
At an early age, Randy as he is affectionately called, had a real love for auto mechanics. He enjoyed working on vehicles; and began honing his skills through employment after graduating high school. He worked at a number of local mechanic ships or dealerships like Five Wheels and Quality Auto.
Always striving to improve his life, Randy eventually relocated to Florida where he worked at a mechanic shop for twelve years. While living and working in Miami he had his first child, Randisha in February of 1992. Randy was an exemplary father, raising his first child almost entirely on his own for eleven years. Wanting to provide a better quality of life for her, Randy decided to move back home to Freeport where he took up employment at Freeport Container Port.
In 2000, he began his career at FCP as a Mechanic Technician III in the Engineering Two department. He quickly became a valued part of the service team. Randy enjoyed his work immensely and prided himself on being on time. He would often say that he would rather not go than be late for work. Following a downturn in the economy in 2008, he was laid off from FCP, however, he was rehired in 2012 until his untimely demise on September 17, 2020. Randolph ended his career in a supervisory position as a Mechanic Technician I.
