On Friday, February 19, 2021, God called Rannie Butler, 77 of Charlotte home to eternal peace and rest.
Rannie was born March 22, 1943 to the late Mabel and Edward Butler, Sr. in Isle of Wight, VA. His spirit was calm and peaceful, but he had the heart of a lion! He was the second of three sons and the glue that bonded them together. His hands were always open, willing to give to those he loved. He was fun to be around with a toothpick in his mouth and a smile that lifted spirits. He worked many years at the Gwaltney Plant in Smithfield, VA. He would later go on to assist in the construction of Interstate 64 in Hampton Roads.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tasby Harris; and two brothers, Edward Butler, Jr and Charles Butler.
Rannie leaves to cherish his precious memories with his son, Myles Harris of New Jersey. He also leaves his earthly angel Marsha, who was devoted to his care and needs. There are a host of other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.
