Ranson Harris Jr., 68, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Royal Park Rehabilitation & Health Center in Matthews, NC.

Rev. Ranson Harris, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina was born on January 13, 1958, to the late Ranson Harris, Sr. and Bertha Bradshaw Harris. He peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Royal Park Rehabilitation and Health Center of Matthews, NC.

He was a member of O’Zion A.M.E. Zion Church. He attended Mecklenburg School of Charlotte and Theology School, Pineville and Second Ward School.

Ranson worked for the City of Charlotte Recreation until his health started to decline.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Harris and brother, Larry Harris.

Left to cherish precious memories are his lovely wife, Mrs. Ruby T. Harris; five step-children, Henrietta Flip (Edward), Anthony Williams (Lisa), Jada Johnson (Charles), Larry Williams (Glennetta), Patricia Williams (Tammii); sister-in-law, Vivian Bradshaw; aunt, Ann Alexander; uncle, Curtis (Silvia); two nieces, Kisha and LaQuitta Johnson; cousins, Terry Harris, Margie Outing, Caroline Ingram, Delta Jefferies “Jean”, Davarty Harris, Patsy Gordon, George Davis, Joseph Davis, Veronica Robinson, Evelina Leak, Dwayne Harris, Ann Harris, Pam Mobley Miller and Sylvester Harris “Boy”; and a special devoted friend, Eddie Elmore; and a host of other relatives and friends.
