Mr. Raymond John Alexander 86, passed away peacefully after an extended illness at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the age of 86. The son of Creola D. and Richard F. Alexander, Raymond graduated from West Charlotte High School, served as a member of the US Army in the Korean War, and enjoyed a 45-year entrepreneurial career as a house painter. His home-going will be held on Sunday, June 21 at 1:30pm at Memorial Presbyterian Church where he was a life-long member. Burial services will follow at York Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1-1:30 pm at the Church. Raymond is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hazeline P. Alexander; daughter, Renee Alexander Craft (Howard); grandson, Bakari Craft; and brother, Oscar Alexander (Rhetta). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Rev. Edward B. Newberry Scholarship Fund, Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2600 Beatties Ford Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216, or the charity of your choice.
