Raymond "Ray" Rollins, 54 of Charlotte, departed this life on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Levine & Dickson-Aldersgate. He was born to Joyce Ann Rollins and Frichard Sampson (both whom proceeding him in death) in Mississippi on November 10, 1968. Raymond was their first born and was born in Mississippi but lived most of his life in Queens, NY until he and Loretta moved to North Carolina 11 years ago. Raymond was raised primarily by his loving grandmother Lillian who passed in 2017.
Raymond is survived by his wife Loretta, her children Jermain McKee (Ja'Toya McKee) Tyrone Miller, his aunt Wilma, uncle Tom, sisters Patricia, China, Quanda Harris, Teneshia Gates, and Angela Gates, Erica Anderson (whom proceeding him in death), brothers Frichard Sampson and Thomas Ellis, nephew Matthew, niece Cheyanne, and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
Raymond grew up loving music, joking around, getting together with his neighborhood friends. He was known for the guy that brought his friends together. He also loved working with his hands, there wasn't much that Raymond couldn't fix. He was very talented....auto mechanic skills, home improvement skills, you name it, he could fix it. Most of all, Raymond was a kind hearted person that would do anything for his friends and family, all you had to do was call. Keeping in touch with family and friends was very important to him, in fact, we would joke...if you wanted tea on anyone, just call Raymond. He knew everything about everyone! Coming to terms with his failing health over the past few months was the greatest challenge of his life and during this time his family and friends showed up to love and support him in their own way. Some traveled from different state to spend time with him to remind him of how much he was loved. Raymond will be missed by so many and as we go through this grieving time lets be comforted in knowing that he is resting easy with his grandmother, his brother, his sister, his mother and father who all passed before him.
