Obituary

Reecy Anderson Tillman, 86 of Charlotte, departed this life on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Atrium Health-University after a brief illness.  She was born in Washington, Georgia on June 26, 1934, to Samuel Anderson and Emma Lockhart (stepmother, Mattie Lou Anderson).

Reecy was educated in the Washington County School System.  She obtained her associates degree from Carver College in Elementary Education.

She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ at an early age and later a mighty Prayer Warrior. She was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church until she moved to Charlotte, NC in 1953.  After she moved to Charlotte, she joined Second Calvary Baptist Church until she was led to change her membership in 1976, at which time she joined Faith CME Church where she served Faithfully until her passing.

After moving to Charlotte, Reecy began her career in the medical profession.  She got her first job working at the doctor's office, then she began working for the Sanger Clinic where she received her certification in Cardiovascular Surgery.  She was promoted to the role of Perfusionist. She was the first woman to hold that position at Carolinas Medical Center.  She eventually became Chief Perfusionist until she retired in 1990. After she retired from the hospital, her career did not stop; she just switched gears.   She opened her own home daycare center known as "The Abundant Love Daycare" where she took great pride in caring for and nurturing the children God sent to her.  She loved each and every child just like they were her own.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Clarence E. Tillman; four sisters, Elease Davis, Laura Williams, Lillian Walker and Pauline Simms and three brother, Harvey Anderson, Norris Anderson and Samuel Anderson.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Regina Tillman and Pamela Bolden; one son-in-law, James Bolden; one son, Winfred Tillman; one daughter-in-law, Daisy Tillman; one granddaughter, Ashley Tillman and two grandsons, Nicholas Tillman (Raven) and Johnathan Tillman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
