Reginald  "Reggie" Fitzgerald Boyd, Sr., 55 of Indian Trail, NC, departed this life on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Atrium Health Pineville.  He was born in Bonn, Germany on March 19, 1966.  He was born to S.F.C. Sergeant First Class William Elwin Boyd and Marjorie Dean Barrett Boyd.

Reggie graduated from D.H. Conley High School in 1984 at the age of 18.  He then attended and completed Job Corps.  Reggie joined the U.S. Navy in 1986 and was stationed in Norfolk, VA until 1994 when he was honorably discharged.

Reggie moved to Little Rock, Arkansas in 2002.   He worked at Arkansas State Hospital where he met his future wife, Shannon McKenzie.  They married on March 28, 2014.  Happily married, he made Charlotte, NC his home in 2004. He enjoyed watching sports.  He was an avid fan of the UNC Tarheels basketball team. He enjoyed cooking and traveling.  Cherokee, NC was one of his favorite destinations to visit.  Reggie was quiet and a private person.

Reggie is preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon "Panky" Boyd; his father, William and mother Marjorie Boyd; and three older brothers, Anthony, William Jr. "Sonny" and Roger.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted wife, Shannon McKenzie Boyd of Indian Trail, NC; a daughter, Alexis Boyd (Chris) of Greenville, NC; a son, Meshach Council of Raleigh, NC; a younger son, Reginald Boyd, Jr. "RJ" and a stepson, Christian McKenzie, both of Indian Trail, NC; one sister, Darlene Smith (John) of Greenville, NC; two grandchildren, I'mani Stanley and Syncere Stanley of Greenville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
