Reuben Vester Griffith, of Charlotte, North Carolina, peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on January 21, 2021. Born on July 20, 1934, to the late Robert D. Griffith and Lula Williams Griffith. He was united in marriage to the late Roddie Lee Griffith in 1960. To that union, three children were born, Reuben Griffith, Jr., Raymond Griffith, Patrice G. Taylor.

Mr. Griffith was educated in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System; he attended Second Ward High School in Charlotte and graduated in 1951 at the age of 15. At 18, he enlisted in the United States Army and posts included a tour of several years in Germany. He was Honorably Discharged in 1963. He continued his studies at Central Piedmont Community College that included a keen interest in Political Science. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a Mail Carrier from which he retired after thirty years of faithful service.

Mr. Griffith was outgoing and loved meeting new people. His hobbies and favorite pastimes included coin collecting, researching family history, debating politics, discussing current events, social media, watching sports/classic movies/CNN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roddie Lee Griffith, his parents, Lula Williams Griffith, and Robert D. Griffith; brothers, Robert E. Griffith, Harry Owens, Marvin Owens, Roy Griffith, Robert "June" Griffith; a special friend, Ms. Carrie Belle McKnight, and "Rocky", his faithful canine companion.

Reflecting lovingly upon his life, he leaves precious memories with his devoted children, Patricia Griffith Taylor (Jerrell) of Greensboro, NC; Reuben Griffith, Jr., Raymond Griffith (Lisa), Glinda McHenry, Karen Hyatt of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Elle Wilson, O'Bryan Griffith, C hris Griffith, and Marcus Griffith, all of Charlotte; and a host of other relatives and friends.
