Richard Allen Stewart III, 38 of Charlotte, passed away on Thursday April 2, 2020 at his residence. He was born on January 25, 1982 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born to the marital union of the late Richard Allen Stewart, Jr. and Bernice M. Stewart.
Affectionately known as "Ricky" or "Stew", Ricky graduated from East Mecklenburg High School and Charlotte Diesel Truck Driving School. Ricky's love for sports began when he was a child, playing in the Pop Warner Youth League. During his high school career, Ricky played on the varsity football team as a first-string linebacker. He was a devout San Francisco 49ers fan.
Ricky was employed with Kip Corporation as a truck driver for several years. Through the years, he worked for various other trucking companies. He frequently worked with his brother, Rashad, completing various home improvements jobs.
At an early age, Ricky began attending Friendship Baptist Church with his grandparents, the late Richard A. Stewart, Sr. and Theresa J. Stewart. He loved spending time with family and never missed a family event. Ricky was kind-hearted and always had an "open door" policy for his friends. His big smile and easy-going personality endeared him to the hearts of many. Ricky will be remembered by his family, friends and all those whose lives were touched by him.

Stewart, Charlotte, NC; one brother, Rashad (Semeika) Stewart, Charlotte, NC; four aunts, Magdalene Melton, Charlotte, NC; Sandra (Preston) Sims, Charlotte, NC; Evette (Horace) Tillery, Raleigh, NC; Evonne Peterson, Charlotte, NC; two uncles, Bennie Jean Melton, Charlotte, NC; Thomas M. Melton, Wadesboro, NC; one great aunt, Utha Johnson, Charlotte, NC; one nephew, Rashad A. Stewart, Jr., Charlotte, NC; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends including a special cousin, Christopher Melton and a special friend, Mallorri Hermanson.
