Ms. Robbin Fiona Atkins, 60 of Charlotte, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Novant Health-Huntersville. She was the oldest of two daughters of the late Mr. Robert and Mrs. Dolores G. (Naggles) Atkins and was born on June 27, 1959, in San Francisco, California.
She received her formal education through the New York Public School system. She attended Hofstra University and received her Bachelor of Business Administration (Cum Laude), from Montreat College, Charlotte, NC. She was a longtime associate of JP Morgan Chase Bank in Brooklyn, NY, before relocating to Charlotte, NC where she was employed at Wells Fargo Bank, until her death.
Robbin became a devoted Christian at an early age. She joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, in Queens, NY (where she was a member of the Youth Ensemble Choir) and St. Paul Community Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY (participant in Maafa, walking on coals). After relocating to Charlotte, New Zion Missionary Baptist Church became her home. Her love for the church was exemplified through her work with several ministries. Dearest to her heart were the Communications and Marketing, Tutorial and Academic Program, Family Event Team, and the Youth ministry.
Robbin was a positive influence and tenderly touched many lives. She was a sister to many and an inspiration to all who knew her. Robbin was also a Kappa Sweetheart and a member of "The Girls" crew. She missed her calling as a comedienne, sharing a joke or two, during each conversation. She was not satisfied until she had you smiling and laughing. Her personality made you want to be around her. Robbin had a passion for music, traveling, dancing, reading and playing her "air guitar."
She was preceded in death by her parents and godson, Mr. Stephen Gilliard.
In addition to her loving sister, Regina L. Atkins of Charlotte, NC, Robbin leaves to cherish fond memories, fur babies, Graeby and Anjanette; three aunts, Mrs. Edna Atkins Barnes of Rochester, MN, Ms. Rose Atkins of New Orleans, LA and Ms. Carolyn Atkins of Hattiesburg, MS; special aunt, Mrs. Joan Black of Jamaica, NY; two uncles, Mr. Cecil Atkins (Mattie) of Hattiesburg, MS and Mr. Whitney Bernard Atkins (Mary) of New Orleans, LA; one great-aunt, Caresia "Honey" Chroom of Hattiesburg, MS; close friend, Ms. Sheryl Fraser; four god-children, Mr. Justin Bridges, Ms. Jourdan Bridges, Mr. Sean Gilliard and Master Savion Morris; a host of cousins, friends and her church family. She had a special place in her heart for Miss Hannah Belle Ray.
