Mr. Robert Lee Dunbar aka Hollywood (79) was born to the late James Dunbar and Ethel D. Gates in Charlotte, NC, on October 12, 1944. Robert departed this earth on June 1, 2024, at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis surrounded by his loving family Robert was a lover of God, in his youth he attend First Baptist Church of Charlotte and as an adult he connected with various churches in the Charlotte area. Robert was a proud graduate of Teamer School and West Charlotte High School where he initiated his pursuit of Cosmetology. After passing the state boards, Robert served as a popular hairdresser for residents of the West Charlotte community and beyond. Robert enjoyed cooking, specializing in fried foods, he enjoyed reading, mostly meaningful books and the study of human behavior (psychology). Robert also enjoyed exercising, especially walking.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents James Dunbar, Ethel D. Gates and her husband Johnny Gates, his siblings Abraham Dunbar, Earl Dunbar and Dorothy D. Porter (aka Dot). Robert is survived by his daughter Earlene ''Kim" Dunbar, her sisters Yvette Walker and Leslie Dunbar, a grandson Kevin E. Dyson, Jr., and his two loving sisters Johnnie M White, Annie Wilson, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
