On Saturday, August 13th, the Holy Father in all His grace and wisdom said to His son Robert Anthony Woods affectionately known as 'Gook". " You have won the race; the victory is yours to enjoy." Then the Lord sent an angel to bring His child home.
Robert was born December 24th, 1962, and raised in Brooklyn, New York to his late parents Learlene Felder and Robert Woods. He was educated in the New York City Public School system.
In 1998, Robert moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and worked as an associate in Food Lion's supermarket chain. He was a dedicated employee and value member of the team. He received numerous awards including a 10-year anniversary plaque for his many years of service throughout his career until August 2022.
Robert had many interests. He loved sports, basketball, wrestling, baseball, and politics. Robert was an avid bike rider, and he was known for riding all over the city, rain, or shine. He loved riding so much he often declined offers for car rides. He enjoyed Hip-Hop and Funkadelic music. His favorite song was "Dance to the Drummer's Beat".
Robert was known for his beautiful smile. His smile always lit up the room and he loved his family, especially his nephews, and little cousins. Robert was kind-hearted, loving, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone.
Robert was one of six children and is survived by his siblings: Eddie, Harry, Cynthia, Kenneth, and Karen. Robert leaves a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, family, and friends who loved him dearly and he will be truly missed.
