Roland Matthews, 54 of Charlotte, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Atrium Health-Mercy.  He was born to Jacqueline Grant of Charleston, South Carolina, father Apostle Edward Campbell of Boston, Massachusetts on September 29, 1965.  Roland was preceded in death by his daughter Shaquan Renee Brown and brother Michael Matthews.

Roland worked for the City of Charlotte, in Mecklenburg County for (5) years until his failing health.  On July 27, 2013, he met his wife of (5) years in Charlotte, NC and was married in holy matrimony two years later on July 27, 2015.

He was educated in Charleston, South Carolina and a graduate of Charleston county school system, 1983.

He was a loving husband and supporting father throughout his life.

His loving smile and laughter will be missed by many members of his family and friends.

Roland was survived by his loving and caring wife of (5) five years Denise Bernetta Kiser Matthews, of Charlotte, NC; four children, Deandra Brown, Brittany Matthews, (C.J.), Roland Matthews and Brandon Matthews all of Charleston, SC; his mother, Jacqueline Grant of Charleston, South Carolina; father, Apostle Edward Campbell of Boston, Massachusetts; two brothers, Kevin Grant, and John Grant of Charleston, SC; and five grandchildren.
