Rondy Douglass, a beloved son, husband, father and friend, was called home December 3, 2024, at the age of 72. His warm spirit and enduring love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on October 7, 1952, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Rondy, well known as "Mike or Michael" spent his formative years surrounded by family and friends in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from East Mecklenburg High School and later earned an associate's degree from Central Piedmont Community College.

Following high school, Michael proudly answered the call of duty by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He served his country with honor for six years, including time spent in the Vietnam War. He carried his pride as a Marine with him throughout his life, often wearing his veteran memorabilia with great reverence.

After his military service, married his HighSchool sweetheart and the love of his life Ruth Morris and married on January 31,1976. Rondy began a dedicated 40-year career with UPS, where his hard work, integrity, and resilience were admired by colleagues and friends alike. He loved his brown truck and would often brag about the people and business that he would deliver to on his route. His unwavering commitment ensured a bright future for his family, whom he loved deeply.

Above all, Rondy was a devoted father who cherished the time he spent with his children. From sharing Family history, telling stories of his childhood his family brought him his greatest joy. When spending time with his family he would share family history, celebrating milestones, and creating memories that will live on forever. In his later years, Rondy found immense happiness in spending time with his grandchildren and loved ones. Mike loved cheering at football games and watching Westerns all at full volume, he was a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and made sure that people in the next room could hear the game and him yelling at the television.

Rondy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Pearlie Mae Douglas, and his wife, Ruth Douglas. He is survived by his Aunt Mary White (Henry White), siblings: James Crawford (Beverly), Keith "Bucky" Douglas, and Cathy Douglas; his children: Jamila Gittens (Rob) , Joy Douglas (Tacoby), Jamal Douglas, Jessica "Monique" Douglas, Jonathan Douglas, Jalisa Douglas and Joseph Douglas, all of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his grandchildren: Janiya Douglas, Xander Gittens, Ja'Alliyah Douglas, Jaiden Hamilton-Douglas, Josiah Douglas, Jamison Douglas, and Jiovanni Douglas.

Rondy's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
