Ms. Ronisha Annemarie Moore, 46 of Charlotte NC., departed this life Thursday, March 25, 2023 at St. Joseph Medical.
On November 24, 1976, in Anderson, Indiana, a fearless warrior princess was born. Ronisha Annemarie's parents, Ronald and Pamela, had no idea how much of an impact this precious little gift from God would have on the world. Fighting her good fight and finishing her divine assignment, Ronisha transitioned peacefully on March 23, 2023, surrounded by family.
The eldest of three children, Ronisha grew up in Charlotte, NC. She graduated from Charlotte Country Day School in 1995, where she was committed to excellence, and blazing a trail for those students of color that would come after her-including her younger sister and brother.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from The American University, in Washington, DC in 1998 and went on to obtain her MBA from the same university in 1999. In 2003, se graduated from Tulane Law School with a certificate in sports law and was subsequently admitted to the BAR. in 2012, after developing her legal chops in a local Baltimore law firm, Ronisha opened The Moore Law Firm. This was, by far, one of her proudest accomplishments.
From the very beginning of her solo practice, she looked for ways to educate and uplift others. On any given Saturday or Sunday, you could find her conducting free legal seminars for churches and community groups. Ronisha also used her practice to support budding entrepreneurs. Ronish was a very active member of the J. Franklyn Bourne BAR Association and particularly enjoyed community service projects like Christmas in April.
She spent many years as a volunteer reading to kindergarteners twice a week. Despite her legal obligations, she made it a point to never miss a week with her little scholars. For the last seven years Ronisha invested time in local youth through the Baltimore City Police Department Young Explorers Program. She loved working with this group of people and exposed them to activities such as the theater, ice skating, and fine dining. She was an avid believer that exposure was necessary to build self confidence.
Ronisha had a passion for travel. She was fearless, and often took solo excursions throughout Europe during her undergraduate semester abroad. One of her last international trips was to Dubai. Though she was enduring chemotherapy, Ronisha was relentlessly determined to create an affordable and accessible way for her extended family and friends to make lasting memories on this trip.
When not changing the world, one legal case at a time, Ronisha had several business ventures including J'Mar Shea, an essential oils company, and was a managing team member of LGC Safetalk Connect, which is an app that will help reduce violence in traffic stops.
Ronisha enjoyed being outdoors and being active, which ran the gamut from flipping tires in outdoor workouts, to hiking in the Shenandoah Valley, taking golf and tennis lessons, blowing glass, and bargain hunting.
Ronisha was raised in church and received Christ as her Savior at a young age. She always relied on her faith to carry her through, especially during her toughest times. For the last five years, Ronisha fought a valiant and relentless fight against cancer. Despite being given only six months to live in 2019, Ronisha set her sights on remission and pushed forward. She said, "For me the question has never been why me, it was always why not me?" Some of her greatest accomplishments in this fight were the ways her case improved the protocols around how the University of Maryland Neurology Team addresses the treatment of cancer tumors in the brain.
Although her cancer changed a lot of things in her body, cancer was never strong enough to change her spirit. Until her final days, Ronisha never met a person she didn't want to connect with in some way, and seldom did a stranger not become a friend. Ronisha's love languages were Acts of Service and giving gifts, and she practiced this every day of her life with the people she loved.
Ronisha's memoires will be cherished by her devoted parents, Ronald and Pamela Moore (Charlotte, NC), sister, Tyra Moore (Washington, DC), and brother Christopher Moore (Charlotte, NC); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and many other special friends near and dear to her heart.
