Mrs. Rosa Mae Allen, daughter of the late James and Mary Alice Simpson, was born in Mecklenburg County on November 15, 1933. Rosa departed her life on Saturday, June 29, 2024, after a medical illness, at Willow Ridge Memory Care, Charlotte, NC. She was ninety years old.

Rosa was a loving and kind person. She never met a stranger. She loved to talk for hours and hours. She was a good cook and loved to bake cakes and pies. Her favorite quote was "I'm baking you a cake", but the family knew the answer to that, laugh out loud (LOL).

She attended West Charlotte High School, but she had to quit to help her mother take care of her brothers and sisters. She worked as a housekeeper where she had to go the back door to enter their homes. She joined the Mother House of Prayer at an early age when it was on Long Street/ She was on the #1 Female Usher Board.

Rosa leaves to cherish the memory of her life one brother, Thomas Simpson (Sheila); a host of nieces and great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews. She leaves six grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Allen; son, Robert L. Simpson; infant grandson, Joseph Simpson; two brothers, Sammie Lee Simpson and Willie Simpson, Jr.; and three sisters, Faye Simpson, Estelle Hart, and Sarah Frances Duncan.
