Obituary

Mrs. Rosa H. Booker, 85 of Charlotte, departed this life on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Novant Health Main.  She was born April 20,1937 and preceded in death by her parents Roosevelt Howze and Annie Bell Crockett/Howze, her husband Auther Booker, sisters Mary H. Dantzler, Della J. Howze, brothers William D. Howze, David D. Howze, Bobby E. Howze Sr., PFC Charles C. Howze.  She is survived by two sisters, Annie F. Howze, Elizabeth H. Howze.

She was blessed with two children, Linda Booker (Deceased), Enricco Booker, and she was Blessed with a devoted son, Apostle Lavon R. Gilmore Jr.  She loved all of them with all her heart.

She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, two special nephews, James Howze, and Jermaine Gaston.

Rosa was raised in Chester, SC.  She attended Finley High School in Chester, SC where she was a graduate.  At a young age, she gave her life to Christ and joined Mt. Vernon AME Zion Church, Fort Lawn, SC.  Later in 1988 she moved to Charlotte, NC where she joined New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a faithful member that loved the Lord, her Pastor, working on different church committees but most of all, she loved singing in the choir.  She worked at Western house for many years before retiring.

Rosa loved going to the thrift stores on freedom drive.  If you couldn't find her, just go to the store and she was there.

She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and two sisters in laws Mamie B. Howze and Bur B. Howze.  Rosa or (Rossie) some would call her will be missed but never forgotten.
