Rosalinda Arguelles Roque, 93, of Mason, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC.

Rosalinda Arguelles Roque, 93, of Mason, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, NC, surrounded by her loving family after a recent illness.

Born on November 30, 1932 in Leyte, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Pedro and Cecilia Arguelles. Rosalinda immigrated to the United States in 1974 with her husband, the late Dr. Edilberto Roque and their children. She spent her early adult years raising and caring for her eight children first in the Philippines and then in West Virginia. Additionally, she worked as a medical office administrator. Rosalinda deeply loved her family and enjoyed spending time caring for the grandchildren, preparing and enjoying traditional Filipino meals, and traveling.

Rosalinda is survived by her two sons, Enrico (Claudette) Roque and Ed Roque; her daughters, Lynda (Elbert) Hairston, Eileen (Jeff) Buckalew, Liz (David) Phipps, Maria (Bob) Ash, and Ethel (Sean) Forinash; her grandchildren, Jill (Darren) Brown, Buddy (Caryn) Hairston, Justine (Clint) Walker, Kelsey Roque, Bailey Roque, Ian Buckalew, Caitlin (Justice) Groomes, Seth Forinash, McKenna Forinash, Ryan Roque, Josh Roque, Rachel (Isaiah) Perry and Eli Phipps; her great-grandchildren Ayla, Emlyn and Penelope; her siblings Herminia Espejo and Romeo Arguelles.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dr. Edilberto Roque; daughter Esperanza (Dave) Gentile; sons Edmond Roque and Englebert Roque; siblings Rudolfo Arguelles, Pedro Arguelles, and Tomas Arguelles.

Visitation and Mass will take place on Tuesday, September 22, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Gastonia, NC. Visitation hours at St. Michael Catholic Church begin at 11:00 AM with Mass immediately following at Noon.

Rosalinda will return to Mason, WV where a second visitation will occur at Foglesong Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 23. Visitation hours at Foglesong Funeral Home will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Following visitation, Rosalinda will be laid to rest with a small graveside service at St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason, WV.
