Mrs. Rose Kun, 64, of Lawrenceville, GA departed this life on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Northside Hospital in Lawrenceville, GA.

"Jesus said, "I am the Resurrection and the Life; the one who believes in me, though he died, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die." (John 11:25)

It is with heavy hearts the Nimely, Dweh, Ketter and Brown families announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, Rose B. Nimely Kun, of Lawrenceville, Georgia. This peaceful transition occurred on June 24, 2023, after a brief period of illness.

Rose Kun, "Ma Rose" or Wrenyeno Boydee, as she was affectionately called, was born on November 22, 1958 in Sasstown, Grand Kru County, Liberia, West Africa, to the late Augustine Kofi Nimley and the late Munah Nimley.  She was also raised by Helena Gbeahmunah (Mamie) Yata who taught her respect and self-reliance.

Ma Rose was multifaceted; she worked diligently in the medical healthcare field, where she was a compassionate caregiver.  As an entrepreneur; she loved to braid hair, she was an excellent cook and a celebrated seamstress. She assisted in starting, operating and managing several businesses, including the famous Rooster Restaurant, Dekontee Hair Braiding Shop, and most recently London Base Entertainment Center.  Ma Rose was also a member of the Solopapay Social Club.

Whilst in Liberia, Ma Rose worked for the J.F. Kennedy Medical Center in the personnel department as a receptionist clerk.  She initially attended St. Paul Catholic School in Sasstown Grand Kru County and transferred to complete her high school diploma and certificate program in the Calvary Baptist School System.  She also obtained certificates from St. Martin's Commercial Institute in Secretarial Science.  Ma Rose attended the St. Edward Catholic Church in Logan Town, Our Lady of Lebanon St. Joseph 's Parish and St. Peter's Lutheran Church.  In the mid 90's, Ma Rose was fortunate enough to travel to the USA by way of her brother, Nixon Nimley.

Upon arrival in the USA, she took advantage of the opportunity and brought her children from Liberia, West Africa a few years later.  In America, Ma Rose obtained her certified Nursing Assistance license and practiced in multiple states – Maryland and North Carolina to name a few.  After a few years, Ma Rose went on to obtain her beautician license in the state of Georgia.

A few attributes we will miss of Ma Rose was that she was highly independent, industrious, entrepreneurial, gifted, talented, vibrant, energetic, enthusiastic, passionate, empathetic, charismatic, and loving.  She was always there to assist anyone in need.  Ma Rose was that friend you could call in the middle of the night and she would be there.  She would give you the shirt off her back to help those in need.

Ma Rose was preceded in death by parents, Augustine Kofi Nimley and Munah Nimley, and her son, Terrence Draper.  She leaves to mourn her children, George William, Evangelist Melvin Dweh, Leroy B. Dweh (Alice), George Papie Tweh (Megan), Minister Blamo Lewis Dueh (Sylvia), Aletha Tarpeh (Toe), Joseph Nimely. Siblings: Edwin Brown, Musu Laura Ketter, Philip Ketter, Abraham Ketter, Ama Nimely, Nixon Nimely, Nuwaka Koffa Nimely, Regina Borbor; nine grandchildren, Chris, Emmanuel, Terrence, Faith, Samaria, Elijah, Paris, Coco, Emmanuel and a host of relatives and close friends in Liberia, USA and Canada.

The loving memories of Ma Rose will forever remain in the hearts and minds of her family and friends; those she touched through her smile, acts of kindness, willingness to put others first, her ever ready act of generosity and her never ending love.
