Mrs. Rosetta Davidson, 97, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on April 18, 2025.
Rosetta Wallace Davidson was born to the union of the late Hezekiah and Doshia McCullough Wallace in Charlotte, North Carolina, on July 4, 1927. On Friday, April 18, 2025, she entered into eternal rest.
Rosetta accepted Christ early in her childhood years and joined Salem Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful and dedicated member serving on the Usher Board for 25 years.
Rosetta completed elementary education at the Paw Creek Hoskins School which was one of the Rosenwald schools intended to educate Black children in the South after slavery. Her education continued at Plato Price Senior High School in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System where she graduated. After graduation, Rosetta was employed as an elevator operator with a major department store.
In 1945, she was united into holy matrimony to the late Othar Davidson. To this union was born two children, Perry Davidson and Dawn Davidson.
Rosetta's employment experience included Piedmont Chemical Company where she worked as a production line worker. She also worked at Jack's Cookies where she retired. After retirement, Rosetta became the caregiver for her mother, Deana Wallace.
Rosetta enjoyed knitting, crocheting and working in the yard. She had a way with the animals in her yard. The rabbits and squirrels would gravitate to her and there was even a friendly lizard that would visit her while she sat on her swing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Othar Davidson; her daughter, Dawn Frazier; daughter-in-law, Mary L. Davidson; and granddaughter, Shannon D. Davidson.
Those left to cherish her memories and continue her legacy are her son, Perry Davidson of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Sharon M. Bragg (Luke) of Concord, NC and Darryl K. Thompson (Carolyn) of Huntersville, NC; two great-grandchildren, DaQuan L. Davidson and Shamayah D. Drew, both of Concord, NC; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
