Mr. Samuel "Lee" Hunt, Sr., 75 of Belmont, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 29, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Granville County, North Carolina on January 5, 1945. He was the son of the late Jamie and Candace Carrie Hunt.
Samuel was a member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in Belmont, NC. He served as an usher in the church until his health failed.
Samuel retired from Gaston County Dye and Machine in Stanley, NC as a welder in 1989.
Samuel always told his family and everyone that he met that he loved them.
In addition to his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by two brothers, John Henderson, James Hunt and one sister, Berlena Keppal.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Faye Hunt; son, Samuel Hunt, Jr. (Kandi); daughter, Monica Hunt Beachum (Claydis); grandchildren, Shaniqua Stinson (Andrew), Ashley Hunt, Mia Hunt, Kortni Hunt, Omari Hunt; adopted granddaughter, Brittany Scott; two great-grandchildren, Ja'Lynn Hampton, Karhi Johnson; adopted great-grandchild, Lauryn Scott; three sisters, Judy Hawley (Andrew) of Henderson, NC, Linda Sylver (Ace), Carolyn Cooper (Willie) of Warrenton, NC; sisters-in-law, Martha Hunt of Henderson, NC, Gay Pique, Brenda Payne, Joyce Ford, Sandra Alexander (Larry), all of Charlotte, NC; brothers-in-law, Edgar Payne, Ray Payne, Donzell Payne (Alberta) all of Charlotte, NC as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
