Mr. Kornegay's fierce commitment to education, compassion for others, and desire to see all people treated fairly were evident in his work with various area community agencies. He also served as a full-time lecturer with The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Graduate School of Social Work and chaired the social work program at Livingstone College.
Mr. Kornegay was a long-time participant at East Stonewall AME Zion Church.
