Mr. Samuel Lamont Thomas, Sr. was born to the late Charles Alexander Thomas, Sr. and the late Ellie Berna Lee Griffin Thomas in Charlotte, NC, on March 27, 1972. He succumbed to a massive heart attack on Monday, December 20, 2021 at CMC Main.

Samuel received his formal education in the Mecklenburg County School System. He was a graduate of Harding High School, Class of 1990. He was employed as a security officer until his health declined. Samuel was a member of Chappell Memorial Baptist Church for over 20 years. He was a member of the Men's Choir and the Usher Board. He was affectionately known as "Lil Sammy" and will be missed.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ellie; his sister, Vickie Lee Thomas; his aunt, Wanda Ruth Griffin; his uncles, Eddie Lee Thomas, and James Ray Thomas.

Samuel leaves behind to cherish his memories, a daughter, Samantha Thomas; a son, Samuel Lamont Thomas, Jr., both of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Charles Alexander Thomas, Jr. and one sister, Latasha Renee Thomas, both of Charlotte, NC; six uncles, John Edward (Diane) Thomas, of Charlotte, NC, John Henry (Alma) Griffin, Arthaniel Wayne Griffin, Avon Griffin, all of Locust, NC; Paul Avery (Genova) Griffin of Oakboro, NC and Claude Delaney (Carolyn) Griffin of Badin, NC; one aunt, Tina Davis of Charlotte, NC; one great aunt, Everline (Earl) Broadway of Locust, NC; two nieces, Madyson Alexis Thomas and Kendall Elizabeth Thomas, both of Charlotte, NC; along with a host of cousins and friends.
