Sandra E. Bowens, was born on May 7, 1952 in Burke County, Morganton, NC to the late Vollie & Tommie Lue Hawkins. She departed this life on Saturday, October, 29, 2022 at Presbyterian  hospital in Charlotte, NC. Sandra E. Bowens, graduated from Morganton High School in 1970. She was called to serve in the Military, Air Force were she was honorably discharged.  She also received her associates degree at ECPI School of Technology.

Sandra Bowens was preceded in death by her loving Husband of 28 years of marriage to Shaffer H. Bowens Sr., & her 2 Brothers, Tommy Hawkins & Donnie Hawkins of Morganton, NC.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving  memory....her Daughter, Lacey L. Baldwin (Chambrey) of Gastonia, NC; Son, Sheffers H. Bowens Jr. of Laredo, Texas; Grandson Darrien L. Baldwin of Gastonia, NC; Granddaughter Danielle S. Baldwin of Gastonia, NC; Brother, Ralph Hawkins (Charless) of Atlanta, Ga.; Sister, Peggy Brown of Forest City, NC; Sister, Kathy Abrams of Forest City, NC; Sister, Betty Hawkins of Morganton, NC; Brother, Bruce Hawkins of Morganton, NC; Brother, David Hawkins of Morganton, NC; Brother, Kenneth Hawkins of Morganton, NC; Brother, Johnny Hawkins of Morganton, NC; & a host of Nieces & Nephews.
