Obituary

Sandra M. Johnson, 71, of Charlotte, North Carolina departed this life on November 6, 2022, at home. She was born March 31, 1951, in Saint Louis, Missouri to Louise and Herbert T. Barge who later relocated to Minneapolis, MN. She was one of five children, Herbert Barge, Jr., Matthew Barge, Michael Barge, and Denise Jamison. Sandra graduated high school from North High, Minneapolis, MN and earned a B.S. in Human Service Administration from Metropolitan State University. Sandra was preceded in death by her mother Louise and Father Herbert.

Sandra married the love of her life Randy Johnson, November 12, 1977. Through their union, Sandra was the proud mother of Randy (Maria ) Johnson; Telisa Johnson, Timothy Johnson, and Ceisyl (George) Mays. Sandra loved being a wife and a mother.

Sandra gave her life to Christ at Betheseda Temple in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was filled with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which was a life changing event for Sandra. In her early years at True Apostolic, Sandra served wherever she was needed, including St. Albans (Church of God in Christ). Sandra had the privilege to serve under her uncle Bishop Timothy Barge. Sandra served as the Youth Pastor at United Christian Ministries where she was ordained by Reverend Johnson Lee. She answered the call to preach in 1996. Pastor Sandra started a church "This is It Inter-Denominational Ministries with her mother (Louise Barge), cousins (Aleatrice Clark), (Clarissa Barge), and seven children (Randy, Telisa, Timothy, Cocoa, Cecil, Felicia, and Bingo). Her husband came alongside to preach and teach. They were an awesome team.

Pastor Sandra was the epitome of a strong, caring, loving pastor, and prayer warrior. She was a prayer warrior. You could hear Pastor Sandra praying at three AM every morning interceding on behalf of the saints. She un-waivered in her believe in God's word and lived God's word. Sandra worked tirelessly in ministry feeding everyone spiritually, physically, and emotionally. She truly had a servant's heart of love. Sandra enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with her family. In 2019, Randy and Sandra relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Sandra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-cousin, aunt, cousin, pastor, and friend. Sandra was the Senior Pastor at This is It Ministries a member of many civic and religious organizations. Sandra was a conduit for change, and many were touched by her deep love for others.

Sandra leaves to rejoice in the loving memories of her life, her husband of forty-four years of marriage, Randy Johnson, her children Randy (Maria) Johnson, Telisa Johnson, Timothy Johnson, and Ceisyl (George) Mays; grandchildren, Jada, Savannah, Miles, Marcello, Malachi, Ezra, Deshon, Gabriella, Haleigha, her siblings Herbert (Marti) Barge, Matthew Barge, Michael (Debbie) Barge, Denise (John) Jamison; and many nieces and nephews.
