Mr. Sandy Ashford, born December 7, 1952, was the son of the late Frazier McNair and Mozelle Ashford, of Bessemer City, North Carolina.  On Friday, February 28, 2025, Sandy departed this life while at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center Main in Charlotte, NC.  He was 72.

He was educated in the Gaston County School System.  After moving to Charlotte, he worked for Holbrook Waterproofing Company for over forty years.

Sandy's hobbies included fishing and cooking.  He enjoyed family cookouts, and he made a 'mean' pot roast.  He loved to watch the western shows on Grit TV.

He was met at Heaven's gate by his parents, Frazier McNair and Mozelle Ashford, and his sister, Brenda Ashford Miller Cowans.

Left to cherish loving memories are his son, Stevie Massey (Sheryl); stepdaughters, Melissa Caudle and Kima Ruiz (Robert); stepsons, Donald Bailey and Sean Boyd; grandchildren, Stevie Massey Jr., Ashanti Caudle, James Caudle, Demari Bailey; nieces, Tonya Holden, Billie Jo Sellers (Tony), all of Charlotte, NC; his long-term companion of over 25 years, Monica Bailey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
