Mr. Saylor Eugene Tyson, 84 of Charlotte, departed this life on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at his home. He was born on the 7th of September 1935, in Wadesboro, North Carolina to the late Tyler Johnson Tyson and Emma Little Tyson.  He attended Anson County Schools.

Mr. Tyson was a successful business owner since 1960; he and his wife owned and operated Tyson Groceries, Inc. since 1970.  Mr. Tyson was very active in the local community.  He served on the Board of Directors of the Bethlehem Center, Charlotte; was an Elder and Deacon at McClintock Presbyterian Church; was Active Mason of the Paul Drayton Lodge #7; was voted Business Man of the Year, Appalachian State University, Boone, NC; was Patron of Charlotte Wood Choppers baseball team.  These are just a few of his numerous accolades.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Catherine Neal Tyson and three sons, Gary Eugene Tyson, Darryl Neal Tyson and Wayne Saylor Tyson; his uncle, James Tyson, Sr, of Wadesboro, NC; niece, Ann Daughtry and nephew, Henry Tyson Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
