Shelia Torrence Caudle was born to the late John Allen Torrence and Mamie Torrence on June 13, 1963 in Gastonia, North Carolina. She departed  this life surrounded by her family on December 3, 2022 at Mercy Hospital, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Shelia was educated in the Mecklenburg County School System, where she graduated from Harding High School in 1981. Shelia was employed by The Charlotte Mecklenburg School System for twenty-five years. She met and married the love of life Robert in 1993 in Lancaster, South Carolina. Before her departure from this world, she was a Teacher's Assistant at Nations Ford Elementary School. She was well known around the halls in the school, and was awarded Teacher's Assistant of the Year on several occasions. Shelia loved her occupation and the children. She also worked in the Summer Camp Programs every summer. Shelia also worked the Parks and Recreation Centers. Shelia was very loved and admired by everyone she was around. She had an infectious smile and was such a joy to be around. Shelia loved her friends and especially her family. She loved family gatherings and was always willing to lend a hand. Her children brought so happiness to her life, but her grandchildren were the  apples of her eye. Shelia loved  supporting them in all of their activities. You could always hear her screaming the loudest for them at any game in which they participated. Shelia loved the Lord and was a long-time member of Mission Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was very active in the ministry and served as a Deaconess, and as the Head of the Fourth Sunday Ushers. Shelia and Robert were happily married and would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in March. When you saw Robert, you would always see Shelia right there by his side. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, and Godmother who will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Shelia was preceded in death by her father, John All Torrence.

Left to cherish her loving memory: Her mother, Mamie Torrence, Charlotte, NC; her dedicated husband, Elder Robert Caudle, Jr.; two sons, Maurice Torrence (Brittany), and Marquis Torrance; one daughter, Ashley Caudle, nine grandchildren, Preston, Mauri, Mekhi, Ayrianna, Ariana, Makaleb, Aiden, Marlii, and Adelynn all of Charlotte, NC. Two God children Ja'Bria and Destynee; four brothers, Johnny (Cherie) Torrence, Jeff Torrence, Brian Torrence of Charlotte, NC and Melvin Tate of Ohio; two sisters, Lisa Jackson and Tamela Torrence of Charlotte, NC. Two mothers-in-law, Agnes Randolph (Pete) of Laurel, MD, and Malinda Caudle of Rock Hill, SC and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, family, and friends.
