Shirley Ann White was born May 3, 1948, in Charlotte, NC, to Clifford and Luvenia Little White. She was the eleventh of sixteen children.

On Tuesday, January 21, 2023, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, while surrounded by family, Shirley went to be with the Lord.

Shirley joined Pleasant Grove AME Zion Church as a child, and was a life-long member. She graduated from Torrence Lytle School in Huntersville, NC. After graduation, she worked at  Ft. Belvoir (Department of Army), Verbatim, and Piedmont Natural Gas.

Shirley was feisty, yet loving, and generous with her time. She always tried to contribute to the best of her ability. She prided herself on keeping an immaculate house and always had food ready on the stove for visitors. "Aunt Shirley's was a safe place for many of her nieces and nephews when they were in need. She was a great listener and was so supportive and caring when someone was in distress.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Willie White, Nathaniel(June) White, Larry White, and Janes White; and sisters, Martha McDonald, Dora Pharr, Mildred Talbert, and Helen Hampton.

She is survived by her brothers, Alfred White and Rickey White of Harrisburg, NC; sisters, Mary Barringer, Dorothy Smith of Brooklyn, NY, Betty Russell, JoAnne Bennett, Mary Harris, and Sandra Smith, all of Charlotte, NC; and special friend, Larry Hart. Her memory will also be carred by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, church members, and friends.
