Suzanne Watkins Harris, 82, of Denver, North Carolina passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026 after a long illness and she is now in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. 

Suzanne was born on March 8, 1944 to Worth and Dorothy Watkins in Maryland.

Suzanne was a woman of wide-ranging passions, from painting landscapes to crocheting gifts for those she loved, to fishing, and reading and studying the Bible. She loved nature and enjoyed her special trips to the mountains with Marvis. Her grandchildren knew her as Nanny and she treasured every moment spent with them. She will be remembered for her deep faith and love of family and animals.

Suzanne is survived by her loving family; daughter, Ginger Johnson, son, Jimmy Harris (Monica), grandchildren, Christian Johnson, Josh Johnson, McKenzie Borkowski (Mat); sister, Judy McMorris (Ron), sister-in-law, Sherry Watkins, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvis Harris, son Bobby Harris, parents Worth and Dorothy Watkins, sister Donna Napper, and brother Kelly Watkins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Iredell County.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn West Cemetery located at 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte on Thursday August 27, 2026 at 2:00pm.
