Ms. Sylvia Marie Coleman, 63, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at University Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

On Saturday, August 31, 2024, our beloved Sister Sylvia Marie Coleman peacefully went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ while being cared for at University Nursing and Rehab Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Sylvia M. Coleman was born on May 18, 1961, in Asheville, North Carolina to the late Johnnie Mae Caldwell Coleman.  In addition to her mother, Johnnie Coleman, Sylvia was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rosetta Johnson; aunt, Mary Frances Caldwell; uncle, Harold Caldwell; sister, Sophia Coleman Dixon; brother, Charles Coleman; and granddaughter, Synona Coleman.

Sylvia attended South Mecklenburg High School and graduated with the Class of 1977.  She was a loving mother of four children, grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of six.  She leaves to cherish her loving memories her father, Elbert Coleman; brother, Elbert Coleman III; daughters, Kierita "Kim" Coleman and Ebony "Eb" Coleman; sons, Gerardo Coleman and Sylmyles Coleman; grandchildren, Richard Walker, Sheniqua Walker, Shelina Miller, Jamice Wilson-Watkins, Christian Roberts, Ebin Matthews, Rahjay Walker, Kara Walker and Synari Coleman; two nephews, Allen Coleman and James Coleman; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
