On January 25, 1965, in Charlotte, North Carolina, at Charlotte Memorial Hospital (now Atrium Health), God placed in the arms of Mrs. Rosa Mae Carrothers a baby girl whom she named Tammy.  Tammy's name came from a soap opera actress on television called "Search for Tomorrow."

On December 5, 2021, God told Tammy that that her search was over, she no longer had to search for tomorrow; she was going to a place where she would experience everlasting love, peace, happiness and joy.  Thank God for the victory.

Tammy attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.  If you knew Tammy, you know what she enjoyed doing.  We all know that Tammy faced many challenges, but she never gave up.  We will say that she gave in.

In possession of her precious memories are her son, Jarvas Foster; brothers, Terry Carrothers and Christopher Carrothers of New London, NC; nephews, Darryl Mayhew, Terrance Carrothers (Natalie), Jamarr Springs, Danus Crawford, Christopher Carrothers (Patricia); nieces, Shantika Carrothers, Tia Carrothers and Javonna Carrothers; grandchildren, Damazi Carrothers and Kevin Foster, Olivia and Jalia Foster.

Tammy was blessed to have as her guardian and caregiver her aunt, Agnes Nash (Samuel) of the home whom she constantly called daily.  Agnes will miss those calls.  She also has aunts, Mattie Wallace and Brenda Hill of Washington, DC; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

Tammy now reunites with her son, Jerome Carrothers; sisters, Rose Crawford and Angela Carrothers, in that place where she won't have to die no more.

Sleep on Tammy and take your rest.  We all love you, but God loves you best.  We will miss hearing you say, 'fa-fa real," and "I said it, I meant it, and I'm here to represent it."
