Tayloria Brownlee, also known as 'Tee' was born July 12, 1955. She peacefully transitioned to her eternal home on May 28, 2019.
She was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age at The Greater Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church. She later joined Silver Mount Baptist Church in which she served as a member of the Usher's Chorus. Finally attending Blood of the Lamb Deliverance Church until her inability to attend services.
She was educated in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System, graduating from South Mecklenburg High School in 1973.
She went on to work nearly 30 years in the Insurance and Financial Industry.
She found an interest in sewing as a teen and adult. At times making clothes for friends, family, and even herself. She was known for her sense of style. Her outfits would always include coordinating accessories and shoes. She was constantly called on to bring certain dishes to various celebrations that included homemade coleslaw, deviled eggs, and chocolate éclair.
Some of her favorite pass times were spending quality time with family and friends, attending church services, listening to gospel music, watching the Lifetime Channel, and enjoying Tyler Perry's Madea movies and plays.
She had a strong passion for those that she loved. She was very generous in items that she would give to others. She would purchase Birthday and other special occasion cards at the beginning of each month to guarantee that each card would be received by mail on their special day.
It was important for her to raise her two daughters with values that would carry them into their adulthood. She enforced curfews, proper manners, and maintaining a strong family bond. They were required to attend weekly church services. This would sometimes last late into Sunday nights. They were also required to participate in different choirs. She spent many days transporting them along with their friends to support the many activities they were both involved in. And although she was consistently employed, they knew they could always look in the crowd to see her face at each event. Her guidance would allow them to grow into women of integrity and respect.
Her grandchildren affectionately called her 'Grana'. They have been one of the many joys of her life. She supported them in each of their endeavors. She was always willing to give them anything within her means and they knew she could be trusted for her love and support. She treated them as if they were her own and always loved them unconditionally.
Left to cherish her fond memories are: Her parents, Barbara & Leroy Nesbitt, daughters, Tanisha Smith (Timothy) & Laranda Smith (James). Her grandchildren, D'Marquin Cunningham (Felicia), Darion Cunningham, Devyn Cunningham, Antoine' Cunningham, Ashley Smith, Lauren Smith, Havilyn Smith, and Adriana Smith.
To also cherish her memories is her nephew, Davontay Nesbitt, along with a host of relatives and friends.
