Terri Denise Polk, 59 of Charlotte, started her heavenly journey and departed this life on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Atrium Health- Main. Terri was born August 27, 1960 to Doris Elizabeth Hoey Polk and LeRoy Samuel Polk Sr. at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.
Terri attended East Mecklenburg High School where she was a very popular cheerleader. She later attended Central Piedmont Community College where she earned an Associate Degree and started her professional career at Duke Power and later worked in the healthcare industry.
Terri was a free spirit. She loved to cook, laugh, dance, travel and spend time with friends and family. She was loved and adored by her siblings, children and grandchildren and was the "hostess with the mostest" wherever she went. Her days were filled with love and laughter and through her resilience and strength, she left a lasting impression on all those who had the pleasure of meeting her. Her infectious spirit lives on through her children and grandchildren and her legacy continues to thrive each day.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Clark and brother, LeRoy Polk, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Reginald Polk (Kyle), Gina Walker, Ronya Polk and Kathleen Polk-Boyer; her father, LeRoy S. Polk, Sr. (Lois); stepfather, Lester Clark; sisters, Gina Polk and Linda Price and special big brother, D. Michael Bennett; stepbrother, Darius Deese (Marvette) and stepsister, Tammy Goodson; seven grandchildren,Brianna Polk, Gene J. Walker, McKenzie Polk, Tianna McDaniel, Taylor Walker, Tahlia McDaniel and Kari Dunlap and Ina Chapman, a true definition of best friend who has always been there, and a host of other family and friends.
