Mrs. Terry Diane Rankin, affectionately known as "Diane", was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 5, 1952 to the late Mae Rose Watts and Howard June Clark. She departed this life on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Levine & Devine Dickson Hospice House at Southminster, of Charlotte, N.C.

After graduating from North Mecklenburg High School, Diane later drove for CATS Transportation Services here in Charlotte, NC.

Diane attended Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, of Harrisburg, NC. She was a faithful member until her death declined. With her faith in Jesus Christ, Diane humbly touched her family and friends with her love.

One of Diane's favorite past times was that she loved to sign; the family could count on a birthday call which included a Happy Birthday sung by her. As a loving mother and friend she left everlasting relationships.

Diane is survived by her loving and devoted husband of fifth-two years David Rankin; son, Lamar "Drell" Rankin (Neca) of Charlotte; son, Corey Rankin, of Charlotte, NC; special daughter, Terisha Rankin of Charlotte, NC; brother, Howard Clark (Faye) of Mooresville, NC; five grandchildren, Deonte Rankin, of Charlotte, NC, Marquis Rankin, of Charlotte, NC, Justin Rankin of Charlotte, NC, Kelis Mitchell, of Charlotte, NC, Kaliah Mitchell, of Charlotte, NC; five great grandchildren of Charlotte, NC; a host of special nieces, and nephews; a special friend, Gail Hawkins, of Charlotte, NC; and host of other relatives and friends.

Diane was an extraordinary Auntie/Mother to her nieces and nephews that she helped raise; Tamika Ware (Damion), Tyler Clark, Brandon Clark, Chavis McFadden, all of Charlotte, NC.

Diane was preceded in death by her sisters Doris Clark of Charlotte, NC, Deloris Clark of Charlotte, NC; brothers Harold Clark (Ann) of Charlotte, NC, Gary Watts of Charlotte, NC; grandson, Lamar Rankin, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Kamil Mitchell of Charlotte, N.C.
