Texie Mae Bullard, 83 of Charlotte, NC passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at her residence. She was born April 1, 1938 to the late Walter and Annie Horne in Anson County, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindsay Bullard; her son, Billy Horne; as well as her four brothers and one sister.
She graduated from West Deep Creek School. She moved to Charlotte in 1963. She married Lindsay on September 22, 1967. She was employed at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as a pastry cook for 25 years until her retirement in 1994. Her family loved her cakes and cinnamon rolls. Texie was known for her warm and loving personality and her beautiful silver hair. She loved her flowers and plants and spending time with her family.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in January 1972 and what brought her the most joy was sharing in the ministry. She volunteered much of her time telling people about the good news of God's Kingdom and in 1998, she became a regular pioneer in the Miranda Road congregation. Her favorite scripture was Isaiah 33:24..."no resident will say I am sick the people dwelling in the land will be pardoned for their error."
She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Lillian Cummings, Bobby Horne, Annie White, Linda Bullard, Quincy Bullard (Deborah) and Charlene Alston (Jerry). She has thirteen grandchildren, Shikinnia Horne, Lena S. Davis, Krystle Horne-Dove, Matthew Horne, Ariel White, Ian White, Corey McMillan, Quincy Bullard Jr., Antoni Blakemore, Quadarius Blakemore, Michael Bullard, Myles Bullard and Brittany Alston; nineteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
