Mrs. Thelma Moore Mason, 92 of Charotte, passed away on January 28, 2019 at her residence.  She was born to the late Sarah Moore on January 15, 1927 in Mecklenburg County.

Mrs. Mason attended Mecklenburg County schools and worked as a housekeeper for many families in the Charlotte area.

She joined Little Rock A.M.E. Zion Church in 1970 where she was a member of the Missionary Department and Lay Council.  She also was a member of McCrorey YMCA where she participated in the Active Older Adults (AOA) program, chair aerobics, health and wellness, and birthday celebrations.

Mrs. Mason enjoyed taking care of her six children and working in the yard gardening, growing beautiful flowers and sitting on the porch talking with neighbors and enjoying the sunshine.  She also enjoyed taking morning strolls in the neighborhood.  She was an amazing, kind, proud, sweet, polite mother, grandmother, great- and great-great grandmother with a beautiful loving smile and caring heart.

Mrs Mason was preceded in death by one daughter, Evelina M. Robinson; two sons-in-law, Sam E. Townsend, Willie T. Robinson Sr.; one granddaughter, Tarolyn P. Mason.

She leaves to celebrate her life and share beautiful memories two sisters, Gwendolyn Williams and June Crawford, both of Charlotte, five children, Jean M. Chisholm, William F. Mason Jr., Thelma M. Townsend, Melvin E. Mason and Laura A. Mason, all of Charlotte, one daughter-in law, Annette L. Mason, ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
