Mrs. Thelma Wilkins Metts was born February 8, 1919 in Charlotte, NC to the late John and Jenny Wilkins. Mama spent most of her life in Charlotte, NC then to Baltimore, MD. She later returned to Charlotte, NC to spend the rest of her 102 years.

In Charlotte, she worked for the Kimbles family and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. While in Baltimore, MD she worked at the Jewish Social Services Aid where she retired from.

Mama entered into eternal rest on Saturday March 13, 2021 at her home in Charlotte, NC surrounded by her granddaughters, Brenda McCain and Terry Robinson.

Mama is preceded in death by her husband Roy Metts Sr., sons, Roy Metts Jr., Willie Metts, Edward Metts and daughters, Thelma Lee Shuler and Dorothy Davis.

Mama leaves to cherish fond memories her children, Johnnie Metts of Atlanta, GA, Eugene Metts of Baltimore, MD, Robert Metts of Denver, NC, Larry Metts of Charlotte, NC, Sinkler Metts of Baltimore, MD and Demeatria Coulbourne-Metts of Charlotte, NC, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. In all there are 7 generations of Metts.
