 Mrs. Elder, 93, of Charlotte, NC, peacefully passed away at home on January 5, 2021, to join her heavenly Father. The daughter of the late Booker T. and Odessa Clyburn Clark. She was born September 2, 1927, in Charlotte, NC. 

 Mrs. Elder was educated in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System and graduated with the inaugural class of West Charlotte Senior High School. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie Elder on August 16, 1948. To this union two sons were born. 

 Mrs. Elder was the first Black Public Health Nurse in Charlotte. She championed a multitude of causes for Charlotte's Minority Community, ranging from voter registration, preservation of Black History, equitable health care and other activities on a local and state level. 

 She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons; Carl Elder (Annie), Cedric Elder (Linda); nine grandchildren; Derek Elder (Desiree), Aaron Elder (Brandi), Corey Elder(Roxanne), Adrian Amis (Danielle), Doreen Amis, Charles Amis (Lakeisha), Levar Amis (Cecillia), Darnell Slaton (Tashika), Tymaria Charleston; three great grandchildren; Dejah Elder, Bailey Elder, Cameren Elder and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other family and friends. 

 She was preceded in death by her brothers, the late James Clark, Carlyle Clark, Albert Lloyd Clark; 4 sisters Lorese Jackson, Oguriette Mitchell, Mae C Orr and Darwin Elizabeth Clark.
