Mr. Thomas Edward Byrd, Sr. son of the late Felix Byrd, Sr. and Ola Garrett.  He was born on May 28, 1935 and lived his life unselfishly until March 28, 2021.

Thomas graduated from Second Ward High School, where he played football.

Thomas retired from Ashley Home Store where he worked as a Service Tech.

He enjoyed cooking and traveling.  He also loved spending time with the grandchildren.

Thomas accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and held a lifetime membership at St. Paul Baptist Church.  He served time on the beautification ministry.

Thomas was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Byrd, Mary Helen Byrd, and sons, Thomas Reginald Byrd and Marvin Byrd.

Thomas is survived by his loving devoted wife, Jeanette; loving sons, Andres Byrd, Keith Starr (Erica); a loving daughter, Javonda Adams (Shawn); 13 grandchildren, 1 brother, Felix Byrd Jr. (Seretha); 2 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Mae Kornegay, Dorothy Jean Lewis (Willie); brother-in-law, Joe Alexander, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
