Mr. Thomas Steven Currence, 67 of Gastonia, peacefully exchanged time here on earth for eternal life, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday September 30, 2020 at CaroMont Health, Gastonia.  He was born on February 17, 1953 in Gaston County, NC.

He is preceded in death by eight siblings, the late Cleophus, Willie B, Ted, Benny, Norris, Alice Stewart, Susie Knight, Jewel Bogans; and one Uncle, Charlie Currence.

Jack attended Sacred Heart in Belmont NC, Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in Belmont, NC and The Journey Church in Cramerton, NC.  He was employed and retired from Sodyeco/Sandoz/Clariant Corporation in Mt. Holly, NC and The Massey Company in Mt. Holly and Charlotte, NC.  Jack was a dedicated and hardworking man who had a passion for gardening, lawn care, antiques, old cars and for his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved and devoted wife of 49 years, Margaret Currence; one son, Stevie Currence; one daughter, Tiffney Currence, both of Mt. Holly, NC; four cherished grandchildren, Avion Rankin of Gastonia, NC, Jamere and Amirah Bacon of Ohio; and God-granddaughter, Arianna Shipp of Gastonia, NC; six siblings, Lynell Brown of Hickory, NC, Leslie Currence of Charlotte, NC, Patricia Currence, Ralph Currence, and Edward Currence, all of Mt. Holly, NC; and Sammy Currence of Bourne, MA; along with a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Jack will be truly missed by all who knew him.
