Mr. Thomas Henry Williams, 95, of Charlotte, NC departed this life on Monday, May 22, 2023 at his residence.

Thomas Henry Williams was born on April 14, 1928, in Marlboro County, South Carolina to the late Henry Donald Williams, Sr and Louisa Shedrick Williams.  He was called to eternal glory on Monday, May 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Thomas attended the public schools of Marlboro County and Voorhees Junior College.  He was a member of the United States Army for 22 years.  During his military career, he was awarded the Air Medal (during the period May 1970 – September 1970 in the Republic of Vietnam) and Bronze Star Medal (during the period August 1970 – August 1971 in the Republic of Vietnam).  After his military retirement, he was employed by and retired from the Federal Reserve Bank.

Thomas was a dedicated husband and father with a giving spirit to family and friends. He enjoyed helping others and being an active member at First Baptist Church-West.  During his time at First Baptist Church-West, he was very involved with the Boy Scout Troop 62 and the Men's Choir.  That involvement and dedication to Troop 62 led to his recognition for his outstanding contribution as a Scout Master.  He also served as a Deacon and participated in numerous church activities to share his testimony and support the community whenever possible.

Thomas was united in matrimony with Elizabeth P. Williams on December 28, 1960. Their union spanned 59 years.  During his marriage, the family was stationed around the world in places like Honolulu, Hawaii, Columbia, South Carolina and Mannheim, Germany.

Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth P. Williams; his son, Thomas H. Williams Jr.; his parents, Henry Donald Williams, Sr and Louisa Shedrick Williams; three sisters, Virginia , Minnie Mae, and Anna Eliza Williams and four brothers, Eugene, Alexander, and Henry Donald Williams, and Prentis Thompson.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his children, Sonya Williams of Charlotte, NC, and Tobias Williams of Charlotte, NC; sister, Wilhelmina Dupree of Waxhaw, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
